We’re days away from opening at the Toronto Fringe, and things are getting very exciting here at Nobody’s Business HQ.  Wigs are being fitted, sandwich boards constructed, and we’re all humming the songs in the shower.

She Does the City has just published a very nice profile on Morgan and the show that you should definitely check out.  According to them, Nobody’s Business likes “to put on shows that are fun, funny, full of heart and ghetto fabulous, with emphasis on the fabulous.”  We couldn’t have put it better ourselves.

Looking to pick up tickets in advance?  Well, you can stop by the Fringe Box Office at the Randolph Centre for the Arts (736 Bathurst Street), or order tickets online, or by phone (416-966-1062 or 1-866-515-7799).  And you can always purchase tickets at the venue an hour before showtime.

Fringe Festival Toronto 2010 and Nobody’s Business Theatre Present:

    Maude-Lynne Sells Out!

TORONTO—Nobody’s Business Theatre is proud to present the World Premiere of Maude-Lynne Sells Out!, a new solo show created by Morgan Norwich and Johnnie Walker.

Maude-Lynne Sells Out! introduces Maude-Lynne Favour, a 21st century girl with a 19th century attitude. And a cash flow problem. You’re invited to join her and her painfully geeky boyfriend Colin at home in the basement of her mom’s house as she auctions off her collection of Rare Items and Victorian Literature. Everything must go!

Playwright Johnnie Walker directs Morgan Norwich in this comedy about real love, real estate, and really old stuff. Maude-Lynne Sells Out! features original music composed and performed by Peter Cavell, who plays Colin. Set and costumes designed by Stephanie Avery with dramaturgy by Courtney J. Walker

Nobody’s Business Theatre has been producing hilarious, accessible and compellingly original new work in Toronto for over five years. Past productions include The Zoo-Keeper’s Love Song (Toronto Fringe 2005), Muhammad of Yorkville (SummerWorks 2007, “Outstanding Ensemble,” NOW Magazine), and last summer’s indie hit 8 Girls Without Boyfriends at Kensington Market’s Bread & Circus.
Following Maude-Lynne Sells Out!, Nobody’s Business will mount the Toronto Premiere of Redheaded Stepchild, a new solo show by Johnnie Walker, at the SummerWorks Festival.

Nobody’s Business Theatre is Morgan Norwich, Courtney J. Walker, and Johnnie Walker.

    Johnnie interviewed on Fringetastic

We met Jeremy Banks in Victoria, and he’s doing an amazing and ambitious project this summer wherein he will be travelling across the country working/volunteering at/attending as many Fringe festivals as humanly possible, and documenting the results via video on his website Fringetastic.  Johnnie managed to catch up with him after one of his shows at Uno to talk about the Fringe (and our shows this summer), and the result is this video.  (And yes, Johnnie knows he needs a haircut…)
