    For Immediate Release:

    Nobody’s Business Theatre Presents:

A Maude-Lynne Evening and Redheaded Stepchild

Nobody’s Business Theatre announces the return of summer festival hits Redheaded Stepchild (SummerWorks) and A Maude-Lynne Evening (formerly Maude-Lynne Sells Out!, Toronto Fringe Festival). The two critically acclaimed original solo works are back for an exclusive four-night double-billing at Buddies in Bad Times Theatre in Toronto.

Johnnie Walker directs Dora nominee Morgan Norwich (Tough!, Factory Theatre) in A Maude-Lynne Evening, a disarmingly hilarious play about Maude-Lynne Favour, a 19th Century girl with 21st Century problems. Critics called it “magnetic and gut-busting. . . A quirky, wit-laden script” (Eye Weekly), and NOW Magazine gave it NNNN, and proclaimed: “Outstanding New Play”, “Outstanding Production”, and “Outstanding Ensemble”.

Morgan Norwich directs Johnnie Walker (Muhammad of Yorkville) in the award-winning Redheaded Stepchild, a tale of dress-up boxes and doomed genetics. NOW Magazine called the play “honest, heartfelt, and funny. . . NNNNN”, and CBC Radio declared, “the performance is wonderful as is the inventive direction. A terrific, moving, very, very funny production”. The Times Colonist said “★★★★… A personal, funny and moving show… Walker’s script is well observed, unflinching, and honest.” Redheaded Stepchild received the 2010 Steam Whistle Emerging Artist Award at SummerWorks.

We hope that you will join us for what promises to be four nights of endearingly original, riotously funny, must-see theatre.
