Company Info
Nobody’s Business Theatre is a critically-acclaimed Toronto-based company of young artists dedicated to the creation and production of new work that is exciting, accessible to all communities, and completely hilarious. The company’s projects are always rooted in storytelling, but also experiment with theatrical form and performance style to make plays that challenge and entertain.
The company was founded in 2005 by Johnnie Walker, Morgan Norwich, and Caitlin McCarthy, then students at the University of Toronto’s University College Drama Program. Since then, their shows have been produced independently, as well as at festivals including Paprika, the Toronto Fringe, SummerWorks, Uno Fest, the Festival of Ideas & Creation.
The Team

Johnnie Walker
Johnnie is a Toronto-based playwright, actor, director, theatre critic, and burlesque MC. He has written or co-written every play that Nobody’s Business has produced so far. His theatre reviews can be found on the blog Torontoist. He is a member of Theatre Passe Muraille’s Upstarts Creator’s Unit. Johnnie is also a core artistic member of BoylesqueTO, and can be seen co-hosting their shows under the stage name “Ginger Darling.”

Morgan Norwich
Morgan is a performer, director, and producer. She has performed in pieces for Diaspora Dialogues, the Luminato festival, and Nuit Blanche. In 2008, she was nominated for a Dora as part of the ensemble in George F. Walker’s Tough! at Factory Theatre. Morgan directs new plays in development, and has recently worked on projects through Theatre Passe Muraille’s BUZZ Festival and Alumnae Theatre’s New Ideas Festival. She is a burlesque and cabaret emcee and co-hosts shows for BoylesqueTO and Skin Tight Outta Sight Rebel Burlesque under the name “Balonia Wry.”

Courtney J. Walker
Courtney J. Walker is a writer and director who splits her time between theatre and TV. She is a co-writer of HBO Canada comedy series Living in Your Car. Other TV credits include This Is Wonderland (CBC) and The Line (TMN/Movie Central). She recently assistant directed And So It Goes at the Factory Theatre. She is also a member of Theatre Passe Muraille’s Upstarts Creators Unit.

Caitlin McCarthy
Caitlin is an actor and director based out of Toronto and Vancouver. She has performed on stages in Toronto and Milan. She is also a founding member of Theatre Revolve and collaborated on their collective piece I Think of You, Erendira at the CrossCurrents Festival (Factory Theatre), and at the Hysteria Festival (Buddies in Bad Times Theatre). She was Associate Artistic Producer of the Paprika Festival in 2007. Caitlin currently studies acting at Studio 58.
